Freshly Squeezed Refrigeration for School Kitchens

Williams Refrigeration at LACA Main Event 2017

Stand M26, 5th-7th July 2017, Hilton Birmingham Metropole.

Williams squeezes the latest refrigeration technology into school kitchens at LACA 2017On stand M26 at this year’s LACA Main Event representatives from Williams Refrigeration will be on hand to advise school caterers about how to get the best from their refrigeration and their kitchen space.

School kitchens are notoriously tight on space and as pupil numbers increase there is the added issue of an increased demand for school meals. This calls for kitchen equipment that is compact in size but big in performance.

In direct response to customer demand, Williams has recently added new slimline cabinets and counters to its popular Jade range. The new models mean Williams can offer a much wider choice of cabinet sizes, allowing caterers to choose the model that best fits their kitchen space. As well as slimming down the units, Williams has also introduced a host of upgrades to the Jade range, enhancing robustness, functionality, food safety and energy efficiency.

The Jade Slimline (model HJ400U) is a sleek, one-door, upright cabinet with a depth of just 684mm and a storage capacity of 410 litres, making it ideal for busy school kitchens tight on space. Its bottom-mounted refrigeration system is especially useful in school buildings with low ceilings, since it gives more room for heat expelled from the system to dissipate.

Also benefitting from the recent upgrades is the Jade Slimline counter (model JSC2), with all the features of the standard counter, but in a reduced depth of just 500mm.

With the increase in a ‘grab and go’ service having such an impact in schools, multideck merchandisers have never been in such demand. The right choice of display units and products can make the school dining area look more like a high street outlet, while still offering a range of healthy and nutritious meals. An attractive display is essential, but operators must ensure that the merchandiser delivers on reliability, food safety, functionality and robustness.
