Sparkling and speedy warewashing results for schools

Winterhalter at LACA Main Event 2017

Stand M44, 5th-7th July 2017, Hilton Birmingham Metropole.

Winterhalter will show the latest warewashing technology at LACA Main Event 2017It is vital for schools to have clean, hygienic plates, glasses, cutlery and utensils, so the right warewashing equipment is essential. Visitors to Stand M44 will be able to find out how Winterhalter’s new Connected Wash system can make school warewashing more efficient, reliable and controllable, as well as producing sparkling clean wash results time after time.

The Connected Wash system exploits the latest networking and digital technologies to allow Winterhalter warewashers to be networked – providing more continuity and efficiency in the school kitchen, or in multiple kitchens in a school cluster.

Initially available for Winterhalter’s UC Series, the system allows operators to use a computer, tablet or smartphone to monitor machine functions around the clock, via the Connected Wash app. The speed of the system means caterers can react quickly to warewash issues, minimising disruption and maximising efficiency, while reducing running costs.

“The benefits of Connected Wash for school caterers are huge,” says Paul Crowley, marketing manager of Winterhalter. “Whether for a single school kitchen with just one warewasher, or for a cluster with multiple machines at different schools, Connected Wash will deliver real and practical improvements in efficiency, while reducing running costs.”

Also on the stand will be Winterhalter’s award-winning PT Series passthrough warewasher. The PT’s energy control system speeds up the washing process, increasing rack capacity per hour by 28% and reducing heat-up time by 50%, to ensure there is no build up of dirties in the kitchen. The speed of the system means the PT is ready for action faster than conventional passthroughs, allowing back-to-back rack washing – a huge bonus for busy school kitchens in peak times.

The PT Series was the market’s first passthrough with energy-saving heat exchange technology fitted as standard. The heat exchangers extract energy from the waste water and the warm, humid water vapour inside the machine and use it to heat up the incoming cold water supply, reducing energy costs by up to 10%. Winterhalter has also launched the ClimatePlus version that uses radical technology to cut energy consumption buy over 50%.

The PT machines are also incredibly easy to use, reducing the need for training, whilst virtually ruling out operating errors. Self-diagnostics and visual and audible signals enable school caterers to respond quickly to any errors, reducing downtime.
