HTG Service now providing PSSR testing for most coffee machines
HTG Service now offers PSSR testing on the majority of coffee equipment manufacturers, covering both traditional and bean to cup machines.
Since the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations were brought in in 2000 it has been a regulatory requirement for any commercial coffee machine that uses an enclosed boiler system to have an annual test. Failure to do so could invalidate your insurance if you have to make a claim. This requirement also applies if you loan, lease or rent equipment for making coffee and are responsible for its service and upkeep.
HTG Service engineers are capable of carrying out a full PSSR test on both traditional and bean to cup systems, which many coffee machine suppliers are unable to offer.
The PSSR test offered by HTG Service involves stripping down the coffee machine and a full inspection of the pressure vessel chamber, before replacing the pressure valve and seal. Following the successful completion of this test a certificate will be issued. A PSSR test is not a service or repair call, and it needs to be carried out on a functioning machine. If it does not pass the test it cannot be used until a service and repair has been arranged.
