The socially distanced oven: Vector Deluxe from FEM helps kitchens comply

Latest multi cook oven offers solutions for the ‘new normal’ kitchen

At the forefront of a socially distanced kitchen is the need for more productivity from fewer people.  The latest Vector multi-cook oven from FEM offers a solution.  The Vector Deluxe adds a series of advances to the oven’s control systems, including Wi-Fi connectivity.  As well as allowing one chef to cook up to four entirely different dishes at once, very quickly, in one compact unit, this new Vector allows staff to remotely download information such as HACCP, without needing to visit the kitchen, thanks to ChefLinc, the Vector’s cloud-based remote oven management system. Meanwhile, the Vector Deluxe has had a total makeover and features striking, sleek and chic lines – so it’s just as suited to front-of-house as it is the kitchen.

The Vector Deluxe’s advanced controls include image-based instructions for the countless recipes that it can store.  Chefs can program new recipes with unlimited steps and actions, to ensure perfect results every time.  Since there’s no need to watch or rotate pans in the oven, even unskilled staff can reproduce those perfect results, at the touch of an icon.  The unit also records and stores all technical and operational data, including a HACCP log.

The Vector is manufactured in the USA by Alto Shaam.  Its versatility, speed and design is the perfect fit for a socially distanced kitchen. Cooking is at the heart of a chef’s work station and the Vector’s four independent cooking chambers mean one person working alone can prepare a wide range of dishes, simultaneously.  In a given time, the Vector can cook twice the amount of food compared to a conventional appliance.

The speed is based on its advanced heating system, called Structured Air Technology, which delivers a high velocity, vertical airflow.  This not only cooks food more quickly than conventional appliances, but also makes the oven ideal for a chef’s station, as the heat, moving vertically, doesn’t escape when the door is opened, making for a cooler, more comfortable work environment.

There are three models in the Vector Deluxe range, offering a choice of two, three and four oven chambers.  The smallest, the countertop VMC-H2 Deluxe, accommodates two 2/3GN pans and measures 752mm high by 533mm wide and 953mm deep.
