Moffat reopens Bonnybridge factory as lockdown eases

Safety of staff is top priority

In order to meet significant demand for its equipment E&R Moffat reopened its Bonnybridge factory on the 25th of May following the longest period of closure in its 57 year history.

Moffat’s range of products, like the Vgen trolley, were designed to meet the needs of key sectors like hospitals, care homes and schools and there have been new orders for them during the lockdown as managers look for ways to adapt catering operations to conform with the requirements of social distancing.

Moffat has been developing strict measures to protect its staff while ramping up production, introducing numerous controls as well as providing PPE in accordance with government guidelines.

Production will be built up gradually over the coming weeks to meet customer demand, and every effort will be made to return to normal output as soon as possible, while constantly reviewing the situation in order to guarantee the safety of staff.

“Moffat equipment plays a vital role in the catering operations of industries that have been at the forefront of the fight against Covid-19, and we have maintained service and support to them throughout the lockdown,” says Kal Kalsi, sales manager at Moffat. “We would like to take the opportunity to thank staff, customers and supply partners for their patience and understanding throughout the shutdown period.
