2018 Distributor of the Year award follows record sales for ice cream supremo
Taylor UK, which distributes the market-leading Taylor Company range of soft serve ice cream machines, has won the brand’s global Distributor of the Year award for 2018. Melissa McCormick (Taylor Company’s senior vice president – global sales) and Jeremy Dobrowolski (president) gave the award to Simon Aspin, managing director of HTG, which owns Taylor UK, and Pete Gray, managing director of Taylor UK, during the Taylor international distributor conference on 31st October 2018 at Palm Beach, Miami.
This is the tenth year in a row that Taylor UK has won the accolade. “Taylor UK is a Grade A distributor,” said McCormick. “Theirs is an outstanding achievement, reflecting their commitment to the Taylor brand’s core values, including support, aftersales, service, response and customer care.”
The Award is off the back of Taylor UK’s best ever sales performance for soft serve ice cream machines in its 44 year history. “2018 was a great year for us, with the UK tourism industry doing so well,” says Gray. “Our customers are looking for ways to increase business, and a Taylor ice cream machine can generate margins in excess of 80% – with the summer’s warm weather, they’ve seen profits soar and an ROI in just a few months. As consumers we may all be watching our pennies when it comes to eating out, but children can be very persuasive when it comes to ice cream.”
Gray says Taylor UK has high hopes for 2019, too. “These are exciting times, with the upcoming launch of a brand new model,” he says. “It’s a compact, counter top soft ice cream machine with some significant new features. We think it’s a ‘game changer’. Our pre-launch orders are already sky high.”
