FEM introduces Hamilton Beach Commercial side-cut manual can opener as alternative to conventional can openers
The new Hamilton Beach Commercial side-cut manual can opener from FEM (Foodservice Equipment Marketing) is a sturdy, safe and easy to use alternative to conventional can openers. Instead of puncturing the lid of the can with a blade it opens under the seam, so there is no sharp edge on the lid, no food contact with the blade and no risk of metal shavings getting into the contents of the can.
Constructed from stainless steel and nickel-plated aluminium it is extremely durable and has no gears that could wear or break. All it takes is six turns of a handle to open a can, the tough stainless steel cutter design with SUS420 grade material does the rest. A can locking feature holds the cutter on the can for easy and quick opening. A built-in can rest ensures the can rotates freely during operation.
The can opener permanently mounts to the work surface and raises and lowers easily over the can to speed up opening. A pull pin quickly releases the cutting blade assembly to enable speedy and safe cleaning and quick replacement if necessary. It is extremely durable and has been life tested on over 5000 cans.
The base measures 101 x 215mm and has the same screw configuration as other can openers so it can be easily fitted. Total height is 430mm and it can handle up to size 10 cans. It is supplied with a one year warranty.
