Half dice ice is the perfect drinks’ partner

FEM introduces the Manitowoc Ice Half Dice Indigo NXT i300 Series

Half dice ice is one of the most popular ice shapes. It’s great for bars and other businesses that want maximum cooling from their ice. FEM has added new Indigo NXT half dice ice makers to its range of Manitowoc Ice modular ice machines, extending the range of businesses that can benefit from this versatile ice shape.

The new Indigo NXT half dice machines produce a hard, clear ice cube measuring 0.95 x 2.86 x 2.22cm, which is perfect for all types of beverages. Half dice ice fills glasses more tightly than full size cubes to offer superb cooling and a good ‘clink’ factor.

The smallest model in the range is the iT300, which can produce 137kg of half dice ice in 24 hours, and the largest is the iT1900, which can produce a whopping 828kg of half dice ice in 24 hours. Measurements are 762 (w) x 622 (d) x 419 (h) mm for the iT300 model and 1219 (w) x 622 (d) x 749 (h) mm for the larger iT1900.

All the new half dice machines are simple to use with new easy-touch 240×320 pixels, 262k colour, 2.8″ diagonal reflective displays providing the full status of the ice machine at all times, as well as step-by-step cleaning instructions, one-touch access to asset information and a start-up wizard.

Designed with ice hygiene in mind the modular machines can be fitted with the new ice storage D bins. These have a hinged door that swings open and an ergonomic NSF scoop that keeps the thumb and knuckles from touching the ice. Bin options are sold separately and can be advised on the purchase of the machine.

The Indigo NXT half dicers have a front-facing evaporator to allow easy access to the food zone without removing the top or side covers. There is also an optional integrated advanced sanitation solution, Luminice II, to keep the food zone cleaner for longer.

Ever conscious of today’s climate of spiralling energy costs, Manitowoc Ice has engineered the new Indigo NXT range to be up to 43% more energy efficient than previous models, significantly lowering the cost of ownership. The programmable ice production and scheduling aspect of the NXT range help operators reduce the day-to-day running costs of operation including energy use and water consumption, it documents ice volume, the on/off time and bin level. All models are also fitted with environmentally friendly R410A refrigerant.

All machines are supplied with a warranty of five years for parts and labour on the icemaker evaporator, five years for parts and three years for labour on the icemaker compressor, and three years for parts and labour on all other components.
