CEDA honours Williams’ Malcolm Harling

Award acknowledges legacy that Harling has created

Malcolm Harling, sales and marketing director of Kings Lynn-based refrigeration manufacturer Williams, received a prestigious Legacy Honour at the CEDA awards dinner on 24th November, during the Association’s conference.

The awards recognise ‘outstanding individuals who have played a role in creating a tangible legacy that has made a considerable positive difference, enriched lives, served with dedication, passion and commitment and have cast an indelible history within the UK catering equipment sector.’

CEDA is the Catering Equipment Distributors Association.  Former CEDA chair Iain Munro presented the award, commenting, “Malcolm leads with great skill, energy and drive. He has always ensured that Williams were dedicated and engaged CEDA partners, but it is his involvement with FEA (the Foodservice Equipment Association) that demonstrates his commitment to and passion for the wider industry.”

Harling has been Williams’ sales and marketing director since 2000, having previously worked at sister company Falcon as national sales manager.  He says, “Well I didn’t expect that! Thank you very much to everybody. I’ve had a wonderful career in this industry. I started life as a chef and I learned from the bottom up, and worked through a number of trades and companies, and finally with Williams. I feel blessed that I’ve had a lovely career and still will do, hopefully!

He adds, “I am delighted to accept this Legacy Award from CEDA and thank Iain Munro for his very kind words. This is recognition not only for me but my family and all the great people that I have worked with over the past 40 years.”
