200 years of manufacturing excellence: Falcon celebrates bicentenary in 2019

British manufacturer to showcase its history in Customer Experience Centre

One of the UK’s most iconic catering equipment brands reaches a landmark milestone in 2019 – Falcon Foodservice Equipment celebrates its 200th anniversary.  The company will be marking the year with a series of activities, culminating in the middle of the year in an event that will combine the official 200th birthday party with the opening of the new Falcon Customer Experience Centre, at its Stirling HQ.

Falcon traces its history back to the Falkirk Iron Company, which was formed in 1819 to meet the growing demand for cast iron goods.  The first records of catering equipment begin in 1850.  Even back then, Falcon was engineering innovation with products ranging from stockpots to sophisticated (for the time) cooking suites.

“200 years of British manufacturing excellence is something we are immensely proud of,” says Peter McAllister, Falcon’s managing director.  “We are equally proud of our reputation with chefs, but we certainly aren’t resting on any laurels – we’ve got an R&D department that is leading the way in developing new ideas, and we have major new launches planned for 2019.”

These days Falcon’s standing is based on award-winning products such as the Dominator Plus, Chieftain and F900 series.  “Falcon continues to set benchmarks in large scale cooking in commercial kitchens,” says McAllister.

The new Customer Experience Centre will feature both a demonstration kitchen showcasing the latest Falcon technology and a museum displaying archive products and designs.  “I think visitors will be truly fascinated by our heritage – our history reflects the history of foodservice equipment in the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries,” says McAllister.
