Kieran Lynch joins as managing director of expanding service operation
Winterhalter UK is to relaunch its service operation as a separate division within the company. The move is part of Winterhalter’s plans to expand its service operation into new areas, whilst continuing to provide first class national coverage to existing warewash customers.
As a key part of the initiative, Winterhalter has appointed a managing director, Kieran Lynch, for the service division. He will also join the board of Winterhalter UK.
Lynch will report directly to Stephen Kinkead, managing director of Winterhalter UK, who says, “In spite of the tough economic climate and concerns over Brexit, our German parent company has given the board here in the UK a huge vote of confidence in backing the expansion plans.
“By creating a separate Winterhalter service division we believe we will be better able to focus on developing its full potential.”
Winterhalter organised the new service division following an extensive review of the total UK catering market, along with allied sectors such as the bakery industry. The plans include increasing the size of the existing operations, and developing a number of longer term growth opportunities.
“Our continued investment in new technology, such as the recent launches of ‘Connected Wash’ and ‘Pay Per Wash’, demonstrates Winterhalter’s commitment to remain at the forefront of technological innovation in our industry,” says Kinkead. “Our service provision is crucial to our success. We will continue to innovate and to drive standards forward in our market sectors.”
Kieran Lynch has an extensive background in service management from the operator side of the foodservice industry, having worked with a number of `blue chip` international organisations such as Whitbread, Laura Ashley, Pizza Hut, Tesco and Starbucks.
“I’m keen to drive service standards through innovation and collaboration with business partners, dealers and end users,” he says. He will be joining Winterhalter on 1st August 2017, with a brief to expand the business through organic growth and by broadening the company’s reach into compatible markets.
