Getting better all the time

Precision has upgraded its space-saving 520 counter refrigeration

Foodservice operators are trying to cut down on kitchen space to make more room out front. More room out front means more customers, more turnover and more profits. But what’s going to take the squeeze in the kitchen? Refrigeration is a vital component of any catering operation, so now Precision has upgraded its narrow profile 520 counters to take advantage of the latest technologies to offer caterers the best refrigeration possible in the littlest space.

These durable all stainless steel refrigerated counters are capable of meeting the highest demands from commercial catering kitchens and are now even more energy efficient. A front breathing and venting refrigeration system means they can fit into the tightest gaps without requiring additional space for ventilation. There is a built in air duct for even temperature distribution throughout the cabinet, ensuring maximum food safety. Built for ease of use, the GN 2/3 shelving system has anti-tilt slides and doors are self-closing.

Operational efficiency is paramount in the upgraded design. The latest R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant is used and 60mm thick zero ODP injected polyurethane insulation ensures the cabinet holds its temperature efficiently. There is a condensing unit safety system to protect the compressor from blocked condensers and hi/lo visual temperature alarms. An electronic controller with an easy to read LCD screen shows the status of the unit. A waste heat recovery condensate vaporiser system further adds to overall energy efficiency.

Precision’s iCool controller minimises energy consumption and optimises performance, automatically adapting to working conditions to operate in the most efficient manner. For example, where possible it will utilise the residual “cold” within the evaporator, through fan-only operations, before looking to bring in the compressor. An extended “saw-tooth” run pattern decreases the number of compressor starts, reducing power consumption and hence energy costs.

Made in the UK, the 520 range is available in both fridge and freezer models. Fridges come in two, three or four door versions, with drawers fitted if requested, and freezers in two and three door versions.  Fridges have a temperature range between -2 to +10°C and freezers from -18 to -22°C. All models feature heavy-duty, braked castors for easy positioning.

Revit files for the 520 models are available in the download area of the Precision website, on CESABIM and SPECIFI.
