Precision launches energy-efficient double door freezers and fridges

MEPS-compliant two-door cabinets will be popular cost- and energy-saving options

Precision two-door cabinetResponding to the requirements of MEPS, Precision has launched upgraded versions of its two-door fridges and freezer cabinets. Offering low running costs and great energy savings, these British-manufactured cabinets are designed to provide professional caterers with reliable, efficient refrigerated storage solutions.

“Two-door cabinets are cost effective and space-saving, so they’re a popular option,” says Nick Williams, managing director of Precision. “The energy data disclosure required by MEPS-compliant refrigeration gives end users the opportunity to easily compare and select the most energy efficient equipment for their catering operation.”

The cabinets have a stainless steel interior and exterior, enhanced thermal break and door gasket protection. A built-in rear air duct ensures even temperature distribution throughout the interior, while 90mm, zero ODP injected polyurethane provides excellent insulation. Further efficiency is achieved through a condensing unit safety system, to protect the compressor from blocked condensers, and a waste-heat recovery condensate vaporiser system.

For ease of use there is an electronic controller with a clear LCD screen, hi/low visual temperature alarms, hot gas defrost, heavy-duty braked swivel castors, and door locks fitted as standard.  Self-closing doors with ergonomic, flush handles ensure that staff don’t inadvertently leave the cabinet open – a sure way to waste energy.

The MPT 1401 refrigerator cabinet operates between -2°C to +10°C and measures 1440mm (w) x 860mm (d) x 2090mm (h). The LPT 1401 freezer cabinet operates between -18°C to -22°C with the same dimensions. The cabinets each have 928 litres of net useable volume and accept GN2/1 shelves – eight of which are supplied as standard.  Specialist shelving is available on request.
