Francesca Hall’s talent and dedication secures help from British refrigeration manufacturer
Precision is sponsoring a triathlete who’s aiming for gold at the 2024 Olympics. 21-year-old Francesca Hall is already representing Team GB – for example, she’ll be wearing the Union Jack in Austria in August, when she’ll take part in the European Middle Distance Championships and then the Zell-am-See Ironman, which covers 70.3 miles, including a 1.9k swim, 95k bike ride and 21k run.
Francesca has just finished her first event representing Great Britain, the ITU Duathlon World championships at Aviles in Spain, where she finished fifth in her age group.
“Precision is helping me cover the cost of competing in the events – it’s a huge help,” she says. “Athletes like me just couldn’t afford to take part in these events without support from family, friends and sponsors. My aims are to compete as an elite/pro at the 70.3 mile distance and, ultimately, to represent Great Britain at the Olympics.”
Nick Williams, managing director of Precision, is full of praise for Francesca. “She only started competing seriously quite recently and she’s utterly dedicated to her sport,” he says. “It makes you proud to see our logo pounding round the track in international competitions – though I’m relieved it’s not me that’s wearing it!”
For an athlete, Francesca is unusual in knowing a bit about commercial refrigeration and Precision in particular – that’s because her father, Jeremy Hall, was formerly sales director at the company. She says, “Dad suggested approaching Precision with a sponsorship deal and Nick was kind enough to say ‘yes’. Here’s hoping I can repay them by winning a few races.”
