John Wannan brings ‘unrivalled, possibly unique’ track record back home to British manufacturer
Moffat’s new sales and marketing manager is a familiar face who has been responsible for helping develop and enhance some of the foodservice market’s most successful equipment lines. John Wannan says that joining Moffat is a bit like coming home – he first started with the company in the late 1980s, as an apprentice.
In his early career at Moffat he progressed from manufacturing to the R&D department where he helped develop the first versions of products such as the V-Gen ovens, the latest incarnations of which are still going strong today.
Joining Falcon in 1998, he helped the redevelopment and approvals of the company’s successful mid-duty range. John enjoyed a varied career in Falcon and also worked within their marketing department as product manager for brands including Falcon, Eloma, Williams and Franke.
He has spent the past two years out of the foodservice industry with Cashmaster International, the global cash-counting machines company, where again he was involved in product development, sales and marketing. Some of his customer base included global blue chip retailers and prominent high street chain names.
As European sales and marketing manager he was involved in winning the company’s largest export order and latterly was part of the team that successfully oversaw the sale and transition of Cashmaster to new owners.
John was awarded chartered status for marketing in 2013, becoming a full member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (MCIM).
“We’re delighted to have John back in the fold,” says Moffat’s managing director William Moffat. “He brings a huge breadth of expertise and an unrivalled, possibly unique, track record of success in three disciplines: product development, sales and marketing.”
“Moffat has exciting plans for the future,” says John. “It’s great to be back and it’s exactly the type of challenge I have been looking for.”
John Wannan MCIM lives in Falkirk.
