Manitowoc and FEM announce new ice machine distribution partnership

Some models from the Manitowoc Indigo range, available through FEMFoodservice Equipment Marketing (FEM) has entered into a strategic alliance with Manitowoc Foodservice to become the master distributor for all Manitowoc Ice equipment and parts in the UK and Ireland.

Manitowoc Ice is a leading manufacturer of ice machines in the US, recognised for its cutting edge technology and energy-saving designs. Since 1993 FEM, based in East Kilbride, near Glasgow, has been supplying foodservice products, from kitchen utensils to cooking equipment to distributors.

“We are excited about strengthening our relationship with Manitowoc Ice,” says Jim Doherty, Sales Director at FEM. “We have been associated with Manitowoc Ice for 18 years and this new sole distributor agreement means we have the opportunity to continue to sell Manitowoc Ice products to foodservice and refrigeration equipment distributors and dealers throughout the UK and Ireland. Manitowoc ice makers are top of the range machines known for their style and reliability and for the superior quality of ice produced.”

At the NAFEM show in 2013 Manitowoc Ice rolled out the NEO undercounter ice machines. These machines offer an all-in-one solution and low profile design ideal for smaller establishments where space is limited and economy of operation essential.

The smallest U-140 NEO model produces up to 59kg of ice a day and can store up to 40.82kg at any one time. At the other end of the scale is the large U-310 model producing up to 145kg and holding 45.36kg.

This new agreement takes effect from 1st January 2014
