Moffat was nominated for the National award by Cardiff Council, with support from several other Local Authorities.  Judges said that the decision had been difficult, since the 2013 field had been very strong.  However, whilst each of the shortlisted companies “fell into the category of great service provider,” Moffat was the winner because the company had been “outstanding in going the extra mile.”

The LACA Awards 2103 were announced in a glittering ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on July 11, during the LACA Conference. The Supplier award is given in recognition of a LACA partner or associate member who has consistently maintained the highest level of support and service excellence to the education catering sector.

“We are chuffed to bits,” said Gary Allen, sales director of Moffat, who accepted the Award on behalf of the company from LACA chair, Anne Bull.  “I’d like to thank Judith Gregory and the team at Cardiff for putting us forward, and to thank all the other Local Authorities who nominated us.”

Commenting on the fact that Moffat is the first company to win the Supplier award twice, judges highlighted the professionalism of the company’s workforce, its close involvement with clients both at a regional and national level, and the fact that its range of equipment meets the education sector requirements exceptionally well.  “Once again Moffat is to be congratulated on its outstanding service to our members,” they said.

The other shortlisted companies were Crown Foods and Green Gourmet.
