Moffat’s Versicarte trolley helps ‘make it real’
Sixty MPs and several Peers got the opportunity to see just how good school dinners can be, when LACA served up lunch in the Houses of Parliament. The menu featured real school food, served by school dinner ladies using a ‘proper’ school meal servery trolley, a Versicarte unit provided by Moffat.
The event was organised to help launch National School Meals Week (NSMW). Lunch was hosted by City of Chester MP Stephen Mosley, seen in the photo making his selection from the Moffat trolley. He said, “It was fantastic to be able to give my fellow Parliamentarians the opportunity to see just how great school food really is. School lunches are the ideal opportunity for us to help improve children’s achievements by providing a healthy and nutritionally balanced meal, and to look again at how we can combat childhood obesity.”
As part of NSMW, LACA has been promoting The Great Free School Lunch. Carrieanne Bishop, LACA vice chair, was delighted with the event’s success. “I had many MPs saying they support what we are working to achieve, with a free meal for all during NSMW,” she said.
Gary Allen of Moffat said, “We were delighted to be able to help LACA out – serving the food from an actual school trolley certainly added to the reality of the situation.”
Stephen Mosley added, “The day was a huge success and I would like to thank LACA for all they do to promote great school lunches, and for showing MPs how healthy, tasty and excellent modern school meals can be.”
