Less water, same high performance

Winterhalter rinse system cuts water consumption by 25 to 30% on MTR Series warewashers

When big institutions such as hospitals, universities and large schools are looking to make savings and boost their environmental credentials water consumption can come under scrutiny. Traditionally warewashing has been a big consumer of water, especially in the rinse cycle, but Winterhalter’s latest MTR Series warewashers have an optimised rinse system that lowers fresh water consumption by 25 to 30%.

To cut water consumption Winterhalter has reduced the number of jets on the wash arms of the MTR Series from ten to seven. However, the design, with the lower rinse arm swinging perpendicular to the pass-through direction of the dishes, ensures that all items receive the same high-performance rinse. By cutting water consumption, this design in turn reduces other operating costs, because less water means it uses less energy and rinse aid.

The MTR Series of rack conveyer dishwashers is designed to cope with the heavy throughput common in hospitals, universities and large schools. The warewashers can process from 115 to 130 (500 x 500mm) racks per hour, depending on the model, and, with a clear entry height of 460mm and pass through width of 500mm, they cope with large serving and preparation dishes.

Winterhalter has measured the cut in water consumption across the Series and found that for the largest machine, the MTR4-300, rinse water consumption can be cut from 360 litres/hour to 250 litres/hour. These figures are dependent on on-site conditions, but during installation a Winterhalter engineer will precisely adjust the warewasher so that it is performing to its optimal efficiency.
