Cheap is not necessarily cheerful when it comes to warewashers

Winterhalter warewashers – lifetime value for money

When it comes to making equipment purchasing decisions it’s tempting to look at the initial capital cost and plump for the cheapest option. But the choice is not so simple with warewashing. Warewashers can be big consumers of energy and other resources, so running costs become a critical factor. The machine that is cheapest to buy, may well not be the cheapest in action.

Paul Crowley, marketing manager of Winterhalter, says: “You can’t afford to ignore running costs when it comes to buying equipment.  Obviously there may be a premium to pay for technology that uses less energy, water and other resources.  But, increasingly, rising running costs mean payback on the extra investment can be achieved quickly, making the decision to spend that bit extra to start well worth it, in the end.”

Winterhalter, market leaders in warewashing technology has invested in a programme called IRT (intelligent resource technology) that is committed to developing warewashers that use less energy, water and chemicals and hence are less expensive in operation.

For example, although Winterhalter’s Energy+ pass-through dishwashers cost about £2,000 more than the standard model, they can save up to £1500 per year in running costs. This means payback on the extra capital cost can be achieved in under two years. The life of a Winterhalter machine can be upwards of 10 years so savings over this period will be significant.

Winterhalter’s GS500 Energy+ pass-through dishwashers use heat exchange technology to recycle the heat usually lost through waste steam and waste water.  Their new rinse system uses less water than before, and consequently less energy and chemicals, while still getting sparkling clean results. Winterhalter’s smaller undercounter UC warewashers are built to the same high standards with heat exchange technology and redesigned rinse arms, making them some of the most energy- and resource-efficient machines on the market.

Winterhalter provides a total solution for warewashing, from pre-sales advice to after-sales service, training and maintenance.  Alongside its market-leading dish and glasswashers, the company’s range includes utensil washers, advanced water treatment machines, cleaning chemicals and detergents.  For further details, call Winterhalter on 01908 359000, see www.winterhalter.com/uk-en/, or www.winterhalter-scout.biz or email info@winterhalter.co.uk.
