Great Gaggia coffee, at a lower price

Gaggia’s LC/D sets the standard in entry-level commercial espresso coffee machines

Gaggia describes the LC/D as the new benchmark in entry-level commercial coffee machines.  A traditionally-designed espresso model, it delivers Gaggia engineering and build quality, but at a reduced price.  It is marketed in the UK by Watermark and is available through a national distributor network.  The LC/D is backed by a comprehensive after-sales support package including a full two-year warranty.

The lower price is down to a stripped- down design, with Gaggia having taken out any extra features that add to the cost.  Even so, the LC/D is a two group model, dispensing up to four shots at once.  Its large, 13 litre boiler allows high capacity coffee production without compromising quality.  It also features a high-powered steam wand for superior milk texturing.

“Any operator working to a tight budget will find the Gaggia LC/D is a great choice, especially if they select the package including machine grinder, knockout box and milk foaming jugs,” says David Lawlor of Watermark.  “It’s also ideal for caterers who might be thinking of buying a refurbished or second hand model.  The LC/D is a much better alternative: it may be slightly more expensive initially, but along with peace of mind it gives reliability with lower servicing and maintenance costs, a much longer service life and, of course, great Gaggia coffee.”

The LC/D is suitable for cafes, bars, restaurants and canteens.  Typically it will be used in sites serving 400 to 500 cups of coffee per day, but also has the capacity to cope when a rush hits.  It features push-buttons to control the number and size of shots per group and a gauge displaying boiler pressure, which relates to temperature, and pump pressure, for when an espresso is being brewed.

The Gaggia range of espresso coffee machines and ancillary equipment is marketed in the UK by Watermark.  It is available through catering equipment distributors and coffee specialists.  Watermark is currently expanding its distributor network.  For information and brochures freephone Gaggia Watermark on 0800 9179879, email info@watermark.uk.com or visit www.watermark.uk.com

Editor’s notes

Lingua Espresso:

Two group – a machine with two groups or groupheads, where the coffee is brewed and dispensed.  Each grouphead can dispense up to two shots of espresso at once.

Milk Texturing – the steam wand is used to create the right texture in the milk, which is vital for the taste and mouthfeel of the drink.  It’s also important for the artistic whirls that the barista may add to the coffee surface when it is served.
