Manchester-based amateur boxer Paul Slater, who has just launched his online Premier Sports Nutrition business, is busy training for the next KO Promotions Boxing night at The Ritz in Manchester on April 15th 2011. And he’s being helped by Kerry Kayes founder of CNP Professional, a leading sports supplements manufacturer from Manchester.
Paul, who boxes at light-heavyweight, is donating his fight purse to St Ann’s Hospice, Manchester. Paul’s mother lost her battle with cancer in 2005, but during her illness she was cared for by St Ann’s Hospice.
St Ann’s Hospice is one of the largest adult hospices in the UK, serving a population of 1.2 million people around Greater Manchester. A recognised centre of excellence for specialist palliative care for people over the age of eighteen, St Ann’s Hospice helps those people who have progressive and life-threatening illnesses – as well as supporting their carers and families.
“I have always wanted to give something back to the people who looked after my mother while she was ill,” explains Paul. “It means a lot to me and this seems a good way of fund raising. The more tickets I sell the more money I raise.”
Kerry Kayes has suggested a nutritional regime for Paul to follow for optimal strength and stamina and has made himself available to offer specialist advice throughout the training period.
“I first boxed when I was 16 years old,” says Paul. “So I know exactly what is involved in getting fit for a fight and what hard work it is. I use CNP supplements because they are such good quality, easy to digest and taste good.”
