Got a combi steamer question? Ask Rational

Market leader offers caterers three-way access to its knowledge-base: online, via seminars and one-to-one

Rational offers one-to-one advice from one of it's expert chefsRational is offering chefs and foodservice professionals access to what it calls its combi steamer ‘knowledge-base’. The company invented the first ever combi steamer back in 1976 and has lead the development of the technology ever since – it accounts for more than half the sales of combi steamers worldwide.

Consequently Rational has a wealth of combi steamer expertise and knowledge, covering not just the technology but also areas as diverse as kitchen workflows, menu development, cooking techniques and, of course, recipes. Now the company is offering chefs three ways to access this unrivalled knowledge-base: online, at seminars and one-to-one with its own expert chefs.

The company has a policy of only employing sales and support staff who have been chefs. So nearly all the personnel who deal directly with customers are not only Rational experts, they’re expert chefs, too. Rational believes this means they can fully empathise with customers because they speak their language and, having been there, know exactly what the issues in a commercial kitchen are.

Chefs and other foodservice professionals can talk one-to-one with their Rational contact, or specialist support staff, at any time. The company even offers a telephone ‘Chefline,’ manned by chefs around the clock, that customers can call for advice. The number is 07743 389863.

Rational’s programme of seminars runs throughout the year at venues across the UK. Academy seminars are mainly for owners of SelfCooking Centers and offer full day, intensive training in advanced combi techniques. Meanwhile the TeamCooking Live seminars, which last a couple of hours, are designed for people considering buying a combi steamer who want more information and a taster course.

Rational’s online community, Club Rational, offers a huge range of tips and advice, including recipes, case studies and a recruitment section for jobs. It can be found at www.club-rational.com/gb.
