Winterhalter launches UC Series Energy warewashers
Winterhalter is maintaining its position at the forefront of energy saving technology in warewashing by launching the Energy option for its award winning UC Series of undercounter dishwashers and glasswashers. The Energy models not only offer users substantial savings in energy costs but also improve the working environment around the warewasher.
The Energy designs include a new, compact, circulating air heat exchanger that is able to recover heat efficiently in the smallest of spaces. The heat exchanger extracts the energy from the warm, humid water vapour inside the machine and uses it to heat the incoming cold fill.
This reduces energy consumption by 0.1 kWh per cycle. If the machine is put through 80 cycles per day, it can save up to 2920 kWh per year. Plus it improves the room atmosphere, as when the hood is opened very little steam escapes from the machine.
The UC Series Energy models are easy to operate. Users simply push the start button. However they can also easily adjust the cleaning programme to suit different items and degree of soiling. All they need to do is select the relevant symbols on the control panel and the machine does the rest, automatically adjusting the jet pressure, time, detergent dosing and temperature of the wash.
As a further economy measure the UC Energy machines have an ECO wash programme where a longer washing time enables water, energy and detergent to be saved while still producing the same outstanding results.
Winterhalter’s UC Series won the 2010 Equipment & Supplies Excellence Award for warewashing. organised by Caterer & Hotelkeeper, the UK hospitality industry magazine, and Caterersearch, its online division. The awards recognised innovation and enterprise, with judges looking for “evidence of fresh thinking, significant advances in design and innovative application of technology.”
