Manitowoc’s new S-3300 ice machine tops off S-Series

Quadzilla Is The King Of The Cubers

S-Series ice machines from Manitowoc Americans use a lot of ice. Soft drinks are served in ‘glasses’ crammed full of ice, and cocktails and shorts are also presented with lashings of the cold stuff. To keep up with this demand Manitowoc has launched its biggest ever ice machine, the ‘Quadzilla’ S-3300, with a staggering output of 1,506 kg of dice ice and 1,533 kg of half-dice ice in 24 hours. Manitowoc ice machines are available in the UK through Classeq.

This output is achieved by the Quadzilla evaporator system that places four high-output individual evaporators into a single ice maker. Measuring just 122cm x 79cm x91cm without its modular storage bin, the S-3300 is set to push daily ice production to record levels. The dice ice is an all-purpose standard cube – hard, clear and long-lasting, it is ideal for filling glasses for drinks. Meanwhile the half-dice ice is kind to blender blades, making it great for cocktail bars and food preparation.

The introduction of the S-Series of ice machines put Manitowoc on the cutting edge of technology and conservation in commercial ice machines. Its patented ice harvest technology reduces energy requirements and ensures clear, pure, long-lasting ice cubes free from impurities. R404A CFC-free refrigerant guarantees the machine complies with environmental regulations.

The S-Series machines are extremely simple to clean. Select components are made with AlphaSan to inhibit growth of airborne bacteria and slime within the machine. In addition Manitowoc’s automatic cleaning system (AuCS) makes it easy to prevent limescale build-up on internal components by regularly and automatically cleaning the machine at preset intervals.

By supplying the ice machine and storage bin separately customers can choose a bin size that suits their layout and storage requirements. All the large capacity modular bins are equipped with an ice gate for increased employee safety, easier ice removal and reduced spillage. They have a heavy-duty welded construction with rounded corners, hinged lids and sliding doors to provide instant inspection of the bin. Non-CFC foamed-in-place insulation makes sure the ice is kept frozen while stored.

Here in the UK while there are not many establishments that demand such a huge ice machine as the S-3300 there are many that are suitable for the smaller models in Manitowoc’s S-Series of ice machines. Altogether there are eight different sized machines in the S-Series from the smallest model, the S680 that produces 295kg of dice ice daily and measures only 76 cm wide x 22cm high, to the massive new ‘Quadzilla’ S-3300.

Manitowoc ice machines are distributed in the UK by Classeq.  The comprehensive range includes the EC Series of spray-production machines, which make premium quality octagonal cubes; the S Series of modular machines with separate storage bins for high volume production; the Q Series of compact and under-counter machines with integral bins, and specialist products such as ice flaker machines.  Accessories include modular storage bins; ice dispensers; a range of dedicated water filters; and Manitowoc’s patented AuCS automatic cleaning system.
