David Price uses CNP supplements to get started on his professional boxing career

A Tall Order And A Convincing Win

David Price in action On 28th March 2009 at the Echo Hall in Liverpool, David Price had a convincing win on his professional debut. He totally outclassed his opponent David Ingleby, flooring him with 30 seconds left in the third round.

After winning a gold medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games and the bronze medal at the Beijing 2008 David Price decided it was time to turn professional.

"I was sure I wanted to turn professional as soon as I won the bronze," says David Price. "It was the challenge I needed to move on and take my boxing to the next level."

David knew his goal was to get his fitness up to peak performance levels once he had made his announcement.

"Turning professional meant I had to change my training regime and I would have to overcome the problems caused by a more intensive routine," explains David. "I decided to ask Kerry Kayes for help and he put me on a course of CNP Professional nutrition supplements and a special diet."

Despite the changeover to the new schedule David has found the CNP supplements have actually boosted his capacity and he is not feeling as tired as he would normally with such rigorous training.

"The slow release formulation of some of the supplements means I have a lot more energy throughout the day," says David. "I feel better and recover from the training much quicker than ever before."

Kerry Kayes is a former champion body builder and founder of CNP Professional, a company specialising in sports nutrition supplements. He has given guidance to several successful boxers including Ricky Hatton, Tony Jeffries, who has just had a fantastic win on his debut fight, Jamie Moore, Frankie Gavin and Joe Murray. Kerry has been dubbed "the boxer’s secret weapon" as so many go on to win after following his advice.

David’s training schedule starts at 7am with a 6km run followed by sessions in the gym, including boxing specific exercises such as shadow boxing and skipping. Sparring takes place at least three times per week.

"The Pro MR meal replacement sachets are so convenient," says David. "I can drink them in the car on the way to and from sparring and the Pro Fuel is an easy, quick way to load on the carbs as well.

"In the past I’ve had trouble with weight loss just before a competition," he explains. "But with Kerry’s help and careful use of the supplements I’m maintaining a stable weight without having to eat mountains of extra food."

At 6ft 8inches tall David ranks amongst the tallest of boxers in his class. While this has its advantages David also has to be careful about keeping up his guard for body punches as he is a big target. It means he must be as sharp as possible both physically and mentally. Kerry’s diet is designed to ensure the best all-round performance.

"At the moment I have never felt fitter, I can really feel a difference since I started taking the CNP supplements" says David. "I am so pleased my debut was in Liverpool in front of my home crowd, it meant a lot to me to show them just what I can do."

David started boxing in 1998 when he was 14 years old, by that time he was already 6 ft 4 inches tall and was set to grow another 4 inches. He loved it straightaway, enjoyed the training and wanted to excel. It’s this hunger for success and dedication that has propelled David through the rounds of amateur competitions to his first professional bout.
