British ‘super-fridge’ from Precision

Precision’s versatile new cabinet: the only fridge you’ll ever need

Precision Super Fridge British commercial refrigeration manufacturer Precision has launched a new upright gastronorm cabinet that it describes as a ‘super-fridge’. Not only is the 600litre model more versatile than standard cabinets, it’s also built to the market’s top specifications – yet it costs significantly less than its rivals.

A key feature is that unlike conventional cabinets, you don’t have to choose between stainless steel or aluminium interior – it uses tough and hygienic stainless steel inside as well as out. Yet Precision’s all-stainless steel version costs less than the competition’s aluminium ones.

Furthermore, instead of being restricted to a narrow temperature range, the new Precision design, the MPT 601 SS, can operate at a wide range of temperatures, from –2 to + 4C. This means it is suitable for all typical chilled storage applications – whereas standard commercial cabinets have restricted operating ranges (–2 to +2C for meat fridges or +1 to +4C for general purpose storage).

The Precision cabinet’s versatility has two important implications. For the buyer, it means the fridge can be adapted to changing requirements. For example, it can be used as a meat or raw ingredients cabinet one week and as a standard fridge the next. It also means that the cabinet is cheaper to buy – because Precision only needs to make one version of the cabinet instead of several, so manufacturing is significantly more efficient and costs are thus reduced.

Sales director Jeremy Hall explains: "What with aluminium and stainless steel construction options and all the different temperature settings, some manufacturers have to make eight different models to our one. Analysis of the manufacturing processes showed that by concentrating on the one ‘super-fridge’, we could offer everything that the caterer requires, with all the best features, for a much more competitive price – and make it with stainless steel throughout.

"Not only is it less expensive, it’s also British-built and has an unrivalled after-sales support package. It’s the only 600litre upright commercial fridge you’ll ever need."

Alongside the stainless steel interior and exterior, the cabinet’s market-leading specifications include a controlled defrost system and a top-mounted ‘pod’ refrigeration system that can be pulled out for servicing.

Typically a leading brand top quality 600 litre gastronorm cabinet will have a list price of well over £2000. The Precision MPT 601 SS has a list price of just £1635 – a saving of at least 20%.
