CST launches high tech security systems for the education sector at BETT 2009.

Stand W24 and W26, BETT 2009
Olympia, January 14th – 17th 2009.

CST & SST launch high tech security systems for the education sector at BETT 2009. Call-Systems Technology (CST), the communications specialist to the education industry, is demonstrating new products on stand W24 at BETT 2009.

The BETT show is the first outing for CST’s new security division, Security-Systems Technology (SST) on the adjacent stand, W26. The two stands will highlight an award-winning range of communications, control and security systems for all kinds of educational establishments, from small schools to large open campuses and grounds.

Centre-stage on the CST stand is Genesis SchoolCall, the advanced software system which integrates most communications devices – including mobile phones and pagers for teaching, administrative, janitorial and security staff – into one seamless system.

Genesis SchoolCall includes integrated communications and automated facilities management packages and the recently launched Genesis GSM, which allows a conventional mobile phone to act as an ‘all-in-one’ device – pager, DECT phone and alarm alert – as well as being a conventional mobile. Genesis GSM can use the site’s own PBX switchboard and automatically route calls for the lowest possible cost, or free within the school or campus itself.

Also on the CST stand are simple solutions to common needs, such as two-way radios and easy-to-use security pager systems, as well as AlarmCall, which can help avoid disruption and unnecessary evacuations in the case of false alarms.

Alongside, on stand W26, Security-Systems Technology (SST) is exhibiting its new range of advanced security systems, developed specifically for the education sector. The range includes solutions for virtually any educational security application – from simple CCTV to a new advanced video analytics (VA) system, called SchoolWatch, capable of evaluating behaviour and alerting staff to potential danger.

“SchoolWatch in particular provides a highly effective security solution for vulnerable areas such as car parks,” says Ashley Sheppard of SST. “The technology recognises unusual behaviour patterns and automatically alerts staff to suspicious behaviour. Our video analytics systems are proven and can significantly deter and reduce crime.”

SST is a pioneer in innovative products for the security sector. For example, it recently launched the ‘virtual turnstile’, an access control system that combines several new technologies to offer a modern and effective alternative to the traditional turnstile, without the need for a physical barrier.
