Rational’s SelfCooking Center was awarded the Innovation prize for design, research and development by ASUE, the German Association for the Efficient and Environmentally Friendly Use of Energy. The prize was for its approaches towards energy saving and reducing emissions on the gas models of the SelfCooking Center.
The innovative burner technology used in the Rational SelfCooking Center greatly reduces both noise and exhaust gas emissions. It can reduce the output of nitrogen oxides by up to 50% and carbon monoxide by 90% compared to conventional gas combi-steamers. In addition Rational’s burner and control technologies ensure the correct gas mixture is used at all output levels producing excellent combustion results and maximising efficiency.
“It’s good to get third party recognition of the energy efficiency of the SelfCooking Center,” says Vic Brown of Rational. “Germany is very environmentally aware and sets high standards in this area so this is a very prestigious award for Rational.”
The judges were also impressed by the overall design of the SelfCooking Center, its wide range of settings and different cooking modes that guarantee food is cooked automatically and perfectly, time after time.
