Boxer Jamie Moore uses CNP Professional protein supplements to overcome injuries

Jamie Moore turns to CNP Professional protein supplements in run-up to Irish Light Middleweight title fight

Jamie Moore Boxers can be plagued by injuries, as Jamie Moore knows only too well. His hip gave way in the middle of a Commonwealth title fight against Ossie Duran in Belfast in 2004 and just before Christmas 2007 he tore his shoulder joint during training putting him out of action for a few months.

Now Jamie Moore has his sights set on fighting for the European Light Middleweight Title in the Autumn and he’s training hard. To help get over his injuries and get up to match fitness Jamie Moore has enlisted the help of Kerry Kayes, the former award-winning bodybuilder, gym operator and founder of CNP Professional – a company specialising in protein supplements for sportspeople.

Kerry Kayes has developed a combined diet and training programme for boxers that helps them get to fight weight without loss of strength. Kayes has put Moore on this strict diet plan and training programme, which relies on protein supplements and encourages drinking much more water than boxers traditionally drink.

“Protein is used by the body for muscle repair and growth so needs to be consumed daily,” explains Kayes. “Those recovering from muscle trauma after extensive training will find that upping their protein intake significantly improves stamina, strength and aids body repair. This is vital to Jamie – his muscles need the extra quality protein to repair and recover.”

As Kayes was already helping Moore get over his injuries with a carefully controlled programme of exercises, workouts and protein supplements it was a logical step to move into the pre-fight training regime.

Moore has already fought – and won – this year against Esau Herrera, on 24th May in Manchester. Now he’s back to training for the upcoming Irish Light Middleweight Title on 5th July in Dublin as a final preparation for the Autumn European Title fight. That’s a gruelling year of pro-boxing – even without the injuries.

“Kerry’s programme has made a massive difference,” says Moore. “I feel really good. My strength and stamina are improving daily. Kerry’s great, he makes all this pre-fight training a lot easier.”

The protein supplements taken by Jamie Moore include Pro GF, which especially helps because it contains creatine ethyl ester (CEE) for explosive power, CarnoSyn (TM) beta-alanine, to provide more intense work outs and improve endurance, and peptide bonded glutamine is also added for recovery and strengthening of muscles.

“Usually I feel really fatigued at this stage in my pre-fight training,” says Moore. “But this time I feel normal and am enjoying the training. The protein shakes are very tasty, easy to take and give me a real boost.”

Kerry Kayes already provides nutritional advice to an old friend of Jamie’s – Ricky Hatton. It was Hatton who first suggested to Moore that he went to Kayes for advice and help.

Moore qualifies to fight for the Irish title because his mother is Irish. “Lots of my family still live in Co. Kilkenny and the fight is on Irish TV so they’ll all be watching,” says Moore. “This makes it all the more important to do well and to be as fit as possible for the fight. I want to do my family proud.”
