Probably no other bike would be so off-the-wall as to celebrate a distinctly odd anniversary. 2008 is Harley-Davidson’s 105th anniversary, and the motorcycle brand has brought out eight individually numbered special editions for its loyal fans.
One thing that won’t be different is insurance. Harley owners prize their ‘Hogs’, and insuring them can be tricky at times, particularly with these collectors’ editions. Now Bikesure, one of the UK’s leading insurance brokers for Harleys, has confirmed that it will offer insurance for the new ‘Harley 105 Specials’. Not only will the company ensure their full extra value is protected, it will also cover any extra modifications that owners may add.
There are eight of the 105th Anniversary Editions: Sportster Low, Sportster Custom, Dyna Super Glide Custom, Softail Custom, Fat Boy, Heritage Softail Classic, Road King Classic and Ultra Classic Electra Glide.
“Bikesure’s scheme for Harleys can be tailored to all the Special Anniversary Editions,” confirms Robert Balls of Bikesure, “And the rates will still be highly competitive.” He says the policy can include many extras as standard – for example, a very high agreed value of up to £32,500, even with factory-fitted security.
Harley owners often customise their Hogs, so the Bikesure scheme covers many cosmetic modifications at no extra charge. Bikesure also has what Robert Balls describes as ‘’a mellow attitude’’, even when it comes to discussing power enhancements.
